Dr. PAI 1.0 Officially Released: AIIA Fellow Project Expands New Frontiers in AI Applications

On March 14, 2026, the "Dr. PAI (Personalized AI Doctor) 1.0", the world's first intelligent hypertension management platform that continuous wearable blood pressure monitoring devices, AI doctor avatars, and large language models (LLMs), was officially launched in Beijing.

The platform was developed by a team led by Professor Zhang Yuanting, Fellow of the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA), Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, founder of the Hong Kong Institute of Medical Engineering and chief scientist at Guangdong Medical University.

As an AIIA Fellow, Professor Zhang has long been dedicated to pioneering research at the intersection of medical engineering and intelligent health systems. The release of Dr. PAI demonstrates the practical deployment of AI technologies in specialized medical domains, and highlights the effectiveness of AIIA's academicians-led project support framework in facilitating real-world implementation.



Through the coordinated operation of continuous monitoring, intelligent consultation, risk warning, and personalized intervention recommendations, Dr. PAI establishes a closed-loop hypertension management system covering "Monitoring-Warning-Diagnosis-Intervention-Prediction." The system can be widely applied in family health management, community medical services, home-based elderly care, and chronic disease management, promoting the transformation of chronic disease management from passive treatment to active health maintenance.

Key Features Include:

· Continuous, Non-intrusive Data Acquisition:

Integration with wearable cuffless devices such as smart blood pressure rings enables continuous measurement and intelligent analysis of multi-parameter health data, including blood pressure trends, ECG, and sleep patterns.

· Comprehensive Medical Knowledge Support:

The system incorporates structured medical knowledge resources such as "3,000 Questions on Hypertension Screening and Prevention", covering screening, diagnosis, medication, emergency identification, and lifestyle interventions. AI-powered Q&A provides accurate and accessible health information.

· Clinical Navigation and Efficiency Enhancement:

Through structured question guidance, the system helps patients better understand clinical processes, identify key concerns in advance, and improve consultation efficiency and communication quality.

· AI Doctor Avatar with Clinical Reasoning:

By embedding clinical expertise—including diagnostic logic, risk identification principles, and decision pathways—the system enables AI responses aligned with real clinical thinking, providing standardized and actionable health management recommendations.



China currently has over 300 million patients with cardiovascular diseases. Hypertension, often referred to as a "silent killer," continues to face challenges such as insufficient post-discharge management, low patient adherence, and limited access to professional guidance.

Many clinical experts noted that Dr. PAI effectively addresses the gap in out-of-hospital management. By extending medical expertise into daily life, the platform supports early detection, prevention, diagnosis, intervention, and rehabilitation of major diseases such as hypertension, providing strong technological support for primary-level chronic disease management.

According to the development team, Dr. PAI will expand beyond hypertension to cover additional chronic conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and sleep disorders, further promoting the transition from reactive healthcare to proactive prevention.
